There is no doubt time is our most precious resource. With every breath, we are one breath closer to the end. Yet we waste so much time (TV and social media come to mind). One of the ways we can “extend” our time on this earth and even more importantly our productive and happy time is to take care of our health. This is not time spent, but rather time invested. Good Investments return value back more than the initial capital outlay. Using your time on regular exercise that you enjoy and nutrition that supports your health and gives you energy pays for itself over and over. The most common obstacle impeding regular exercise for people is a “perceived lack of time.” I would argue that one doesn’t have a lack of time but rather they have their priorities out of order. There is plenty of time to get in 3-4 regular classes a week. If you can’t seem to consistently find this time in your schedule, then a Time Audit can be quite helpful. Here’s a great 1-minute video by Rob “Bobby Maximus” McDonald, former UFC fighter and former head coach at the world-famous Gym Jones on how to audit your time. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Of course, I realize that certain populations have more demands on those 24 hours than others (shout out to all the single moms or dads out there). But, take a look at how you are spending your time, and see if you can prioritize a few hours a week for exercise. Get it in where you can fit it in and put the oxygen mask on yourself first so that you can then put the mask on many others!
